Welcome!

The interdisciplinary endoscopy at Klinikum rechts der Isar offers endoscopic diagnostical and therapeutical procedures for gastrointestinal tract diseases including proctology and diseases of the hepatobiliary system. The combination of gastroenterologists and surgeons provides an interchange of expertise from both specialities allowing for comprehensive and individual management of patients. The department treats both in and out-patients completing between 10,000 and 11,000 endoscopy procedures per annum and has a close working relationship with the following departments: Radiology, radiotherapy, haematology and oncology, gynecology, urology, nuclear medicine, pathology and the Roman-Herzog Krebszentrum (RHCCC). The department has been a joint partner with the Darmzentrum and Pankreaszentrum since January 2014 both of which are certified by the Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft.

In addition the department focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic methods allowing access for our patients to the latest developments in this therapeutic area, in some cases before widely available. Our commitment to research is demonstrated by regular publications in peer reviewed journals and invitations to present at conferences.
